The following boards currently are seeking applicants to fill membership vacancies. Interested applicants should submit an Application for Appointment to Standing Boards, Commissions, and Authorities to the Clerk of Council stating their qualifications and reasons for requesting appointment.
CONSIDERATION OF APPOINTMENT TO TOWN OF AMHERST PLANNING COMMISSION – 2 Vacancies
The Town Council of the Town of Amherst is accepting applications from interested and qualified individuals who desire to be considered for appointment to a vacant seat on the Town of Amherst Planning Commission. Interested individuals are invited to apply by delivering a completed application form available at http://amherstva.gov and in the Town Hall during normal business hours.
Appointment and Membership: Seven members are appointed by the Town Council on a staggered basis. Four Year Term beginning July 1.
Duties and Responsibilities: Recommendations to Town Council on comprehensive plan, Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance, and rezoning and special use permit applications. Review subdivisions and plans.
Regular Meetings: 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of the month in Town Hall.
