Clerk of Council

The Clerk of Council is responsible for recording the proceedings and preserving the records of Town Council and its Boards and Commissions and notifying the public of its meeting dates and actions. The Clerk of Council is under the supervision of the Town Manager.

The Clerk of Council maintains a listing of all Council and Board  appointments.

The Clerk of Council is a member of the Virginia Municipal Clerk’s Association and has the opportunity to pursue certification.

The Clerk of Council also acts as the FOIA officer for the Town of Amherst.
